Jakkie is a professional architect and senior interior architect at Spacework with over 6 years’ experience in practice, helping the African and South African public with inspiring amenities and institutions. Jakkie uses that experience to navigate the project constraints to bring world-class facilities to developing countries.
By focusing on dignifying and uplifting public spaces, Jakkie has been able to put the BArchStud. BArchStud (Hons) and MArch (Prof) he earned at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, to good use.
Jakkie may spend his days in offices in Johannesburg or Harare, but it’s working with people and engaging with stakeholders, end-users, clients and the public that gets him up in the morning.
When Jakkie is not behind his desk or at site visits, he is probably sitting back in nature somewhere lighting an afternoon fire. Jakkie is a hiker and SCUBA diver.
